Oceatec receive financial support, from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED), to develop a new seafood processing equipment.

The project consists in developing new automated seafood processing equipment and helping Oceatec launch a commercialization strategy to generate sales in Canada and abroad. The project also includes marketing activities for this equipment in the northeastern United States.

David Lametti, Member of Parliament for LaSalle–Émard–Verdun and Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED), and Norbert Morin, Member for Côte-du-Sud, acting on behalf of Dominique Anglade, Minister of Economy, Science and Innovation and Minister responsible for the Digital Strategy, made the announcement in La Pocatière, for support granted to a total of six businesses and organizations in the Kamouraska RCM.

With this support, Oceatec plan on creating 2 new jobs in the short term, in the field of technological innovation.
